I had to go back for this one. I had not recorded the pieces I wanted too….as in I didnt press the record button on the camera and I was not going to let that stop me. So Luckly I was in Whangarei and had a call for work in Kaikohe and so that gave me the chance to go back to Opara…..a place that isnt a place.

I have for you here the song that has made me do something crazy. I dont know why I am doing it but I am looking for all the locations in this song – I've Been Everywhere. But at this point I am loving it also. I have a freedom and an energy about me at the moment with the discovering of beautiful locations and learning about the history of a township and region.

I’ve Been Everywhere blog – lost but I have found the song

After leaving Trounson Kauri Park down the wrong road I found myself down trying to find my way back via a different road. I found out later that the road was wasted out back in 1988 but this was not on the maps. I the road was starting to become less like that of a road that was used well. The sign to warn me was not being shown as it keeps being pulled down. The van was not stuck that much but did not have the guts to back me out. I walked to find my help and was pulled out by some friendly locals. Suzuki quad bikes!!

I found the CD with the song 'I've Been Everywhere' and it is the 1991 version with a change in some lyrics to that you will find on the internet. Once I have sorted all the locations out I will add the correct lyrics to www.theroamingreliever.com. The song will also be available there for you to listen too.

Roaming Reliever at Waiuku Port

Just a short video from when I was passing Waiuku back from Awhitu Peninsula in South Auckland. It interested me the change that transport has on rural communities and how this was a big change in how Waiuku operated.
